  • 12 lasagna sheets

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Lasagna Sheets – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the lasagna sheets according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the White Sauce – In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute, stirring continuously to form a roux.
  3. Add Milk and Cream – Gradually pour in the milk and whisk continuously to avoid lumps. Add the heavy cream and keep stirring until the sauce thickens. Season with salt, black pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, and red chili flakes for extra flavor.
  4. Sauté the Chicken and Vegetables – In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shredded chicken, mushrooms, and spinach (if using). Sauté for a few minutes until the vegetables are tender and well combined with the chicken.
  5. Assemble the Lasagna – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a greased baking dish, spread a thin layer of white sauce at the bottom. Place a layer of cooked lasagna sheets over the sauce, followed by a portion of the sautéed chicken mixture, a generous amount of white sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cheese on top.
  6. Bake to Perfection – Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let It Rest and Serve – Allow the lasagna to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
